Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Waqt may collect, how it is used, what Waqt does not collect, and how users can contact support or request account deletion.
1. Introduction
Waqt is a Muslim prayer protection app designed to help users protect salah from phone distraction. It provides prayer times, reminders, selected app blocking during prayer windows, prayer confirmation, Qibla assistance, progress history, qada tracking, and family accountability features.
This draft policy uses plain language. The final version should match the exact app implementation before launch.
2. Information we collect
Account information: name, email address, and authentication identifiers used to create, sign in to, secure, and recover a Waqt account.
Prayer settings: calculation method, prayer times, reminder preferences, block durations, protected prayer windows, and related configuration.
Location data: location is used to calculate prayer times. Waqt may use precise device location on the device when the user allows it. Cloud settings should be limited to the selected prayer location or approximate location needed for prayer-time sync, not continuous GPS history. The owner should verify this wording against the final app behavior.
App blocking selections: selected app identifiers, package names, or bundle identifiers chosen by the user or by an authorised family organiser for a child account.
Prayer logs: prayed, not yet, missed/qada status, timestamps, streaks, history, and consistency insights.
Family mode data: family membership, role, organiser/child relationship, child readiness state, child-visible joining information, and organiser-visible prayer logs or settings where family mode is enabled.
Device and permission state: notification readiness, overlay permission state, Accessibility readiness, exact alarm readiness, and Screen Time or FamilyControls readiness where applicable.
Purchase or subscription state: subscription status, entitlement state, trial status, and related purchase identifiers provided by RevenueCat, the App Store, or Google Play.
Support messages: messages, email address, device details, screenshots, or other information a user chooses to send when contacting support.
3. How we use information
- Calculate prayer times based on location and selected method.
- Schedule reminders, adhan alerts, check-ins, and blocking windows.
- Sync settings and prayer history across a user's devices.
- Provide family accountability features where enabled.
- Maintain accounts, subscriptions, support, safety, debugging, and app reliability.
4. What Waqt does not do
- Waqt does not read messages.
- Waqt does not read typed text or passwords.
- Waqt does not monitor screen content.
- Waqt does not sell personal data.
- Waqt does not use app blocking data for ads.
5. App blocking and Accessibility disclosure for Android
On Android, Waqt may request Accessibility permission to detect whether a user-selected blocked app is open during an active prayer window. This permission is used only for prayer-window protection.
Waqt does not use Accessibility permission to read content, messages, passwords, typed text, or full screen contents.
6. iOS Screen Time and FamilyControls disclosure
On iOS, Waqt may use Screen Time, FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings features to let users select apps and apply shields during prayer windows.
These controls are used for prayer-window protection and family mode features. They are not intended for hidden monitoring.
7. Sharing information
Waqt may share information with service providers that help operate the app, such as Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and any analytics or crash tools used in the final product.
In Family Mode, a family organiser may see child prayer logs, selected settings, readiness state, and controls that are clearly shown to the child before joining.
Waqt may also disclose information when required for legal, safety, security, fraud prevention, or dispute reasons.
8. Children and family mode
Family Mode is designed for transparent prayer accountability. Organisers can invite child members and, where they have appropriate consent or authority, manage prayer-window blocking settings for child accounts.
Children should see what information and controls will be shared before joining. Waqt should not be used for hidden surveillance. Adult family members remain self-managed.
9. Data retention
Prayer logs, settings, family membership data, and account data are retained while the account is active unless deleted by the user or through an account deletion request.
Local data may remain on the device until the user deletes the app, clears app data, or completes an in-app deletion flow that removes local data.
10. Account deletion
Users can request deletion of their Waqt account and cloud data. See the Account Deletion page for request instructions and details about what is deleted or retained.
11. Security
Waqt should use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect account, prayer, family, and subscription information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
12. International users
Waqt may be used by people in different countries. Information may be processed in the countries where Waqt, its infrastructure, or service providers operate.
13. Changes to this policy
Waqt may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated page should show a new last updated date.
